I recently had a chance to hang out with one of the original Bat Mobiles on display at Harrah’s Automobile Museum in Reno NV. I had access to it for four hours in private. In 1966 ( episode #51, air date 11/2/66) Paul Revere & The Raiders appeared on the Episode “HIZZONNER THE PENGUIN.” During a rally scene Paul Revere & The Raiders area backing band playing the song Little Egypt. I haven’t looked for the actually video for this yet, but here is the audio taken from a 1982 vinyl bootleg lp over the photos of the Bat Mobile. For the record George Barris made 5 Bat Mobiles for the TV series. I’m not sure which Bat Mobile this is. At the end of the slide show video, a rare photo of Paul Revere and Mark Lindsay sitting in the Bat Mobile. Enjoy!

Barris only built FOUR Batmobiles, the original off the ’54 Lincoln show car and three fiberglass ones (molded off the original car) built on stretched ’65-’66 Galaxie chassis.
The “5th” Batmobile was built by some one else, obviously a fan, on his own off a ’58 T-bird back in 1966. Several years later Barris bought it and added it to his collection. Eventually he sold it. Barris still owns the original, the other three are in privat collections.
Currently there’s dozens of replicas around.

Barris didn’t buy the 5th. He seued the builder for copy rights infringments and TOOK it from him.
