Panchamda, Kishore Kumar and Rajesh Khanna deserved National Award for this film. Unfortunately the best actor was given to M G Ramachandran for the film Richshawkaran, best Music Director to Jaidev for Reshma aur Shera and best play back singer to Hemanto da for Sinha Prishhthe Bhar Koriye.
