great song this, i heard it on radio luxembourg in the late 80s i think and never knew who it was. kept thinking toyah, but knew it wasnt. thank god for youtube
Loved this song since it came out, and still have the album it came from on vinyl. Did that ever make it out on CD? I heard a rumour a while back that it did.
If you’re looking for old vinyl that never got released on CD or downloads go to GEMM.com . GEMM has a gigantic catalog of vinyl from tens of thousand of sellers around the world.
Her name is Anna Marie garrett. My mates Sister, she comes from hastings in East Sussex, I’m not sure now but think she might live in Seaford West Sussex.
didnt they take their name from the school mobiles they had lessons in an also wrote music? nevertheless a gr8 song that takes me back to an era where music was at a peak.. late 70s early 80s . think this was 83..
I believe the band hailed from Eastbourne…..commonly known as ‘God’s waiting room” on the South Coast of England (the average age of the population is around 97yo, and all wear elasticated beige clour clothing)!
The Mobiles also had a minor hit after this with a song called “Patrners in Fiction” – I had both on 7 inch singles at one stage but I can’t find this last hit anywhere to download!
I haven’t heard this song on the radio since 1982. All these ’80s revival radio shows play the same old crap while missing out on forgotten classics like this, they should do some research!
Hi Chris, when I was at school me, my friend Anne-Marie, and I believe John Peel on TOTP, all loved this. It is very well executed. Does the song mean anything in particular?
love this song
